Chapter 13

Today seemed…different…Jon wasn’t his normal bouncy self…Spine was withdrawn and chose to stay in the H.O.W. all day and Rabbit…he didn’t seem his normal self.

Anabella pulled at the dress they made her wear. It was uncomfterble and clingy…”Why do I have to we-wear this?’ she asked the humans in the house for what seemed the billionth time.

“We are going somewhere special…” Steve finally answered packing the picnic basket.

She frowned and stuck out her bottom lip in a pout. “But aren’t we supposed to b-be wearing more colorful clothes?” she asked thinking it was a concert.

“Not for this one” Steve sighed and patted her on the head. “When we get there, I’m sure Peter will explain everything” he headed from the kitchen and out to the bus to put the little basket inside.

“Rabbit, have you seen Jon?” VI’s voice could be heard from the living room.

“No…I’m t-trying to find him…” came Rabbit’s voice. “H-he’s not in his normal sp-spots” he called.

Michael came into the manor, Jon trudging behind him. ‘Found him, he was up at Peter’s grave” He turned to the copper bot. “Everything will be fine Jon, we do this every year, remember?” he put his hands on both sides of the young automaton who sniffled loudly and kept his eyes at the floor.

“Where’s spine?’ VI asked.

“Right here” Spine headed down the long stair case with a bundle of flowers held in his hands.

When they had all gathered in the bus and was well on there way Anabella piped up, the silence was driving her crazy.

“Why do I have to wear this mon-monkey suit?” she called out. Monkey suit…It was what Rabbit called a tux when he showed her pictures of VI when he was younger at some kind of science fair.

“Just relax Anabella…we’ll be there soon” Spine called from the front bench seat his hat down over his eyes and his body tence.

Anabella pouted and fidgeted in her seat at the table. Finally she resorted to knocking her metal fingers on the table…that was quickly stopped though by Steve’s hand catching and pinning it down to the table. “here, play a game of cards with me” he offered.

They played gold fish for about 15 minutes, they had gone through 2 rounds already (all of which Anabella won) before they finally reached there destination.

As they piled out of the bus Anabella looked up at the black metal bars that formed an arch way. “Hill Crest Cemetery’ was what the words formed above there heads. Anabella frowned.  “But Peter is back at the ma-manor…” she told Spine who led the group through the gates.

Michael patted her shoulder. “We aren’t here to see Peter…you will see in a moment” he said softly guiding her towards the path.

Once they reached there destination; a tomb stone that read the words ‘Delilah’ the boys were sitting down beside her, VI standing silently in the back, his hand on the Jon’s back who was silent for the first time since Anabella meet them.

Anabella shifted from foot to foot, anxious at the growing silence and the growing anxiety for not knowing what was going on. It was then she had an idea. She drove her hand into her coat pocket, inside were some oil pastels she brought for the trip *and once on the bus she realized she forgot the paper* she moved silently towards the tomb stone.

“ANABELLA WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Rabbit yelled. Anabella had started drawing on the tomb stone, making a gigantic happy face. Her head snapped up hearing Rabbit yell and, before she knew what was going on, She was tackled to the floor. Her head jolted off the ground and she could hear everyone else yelling at Rabbit.

It took both Spine and Jon to pull Rabbit off Anabella.

“You don’t do that!’ he yelled at her. The humans rarely seen this side of Rabbit and usually it was a cause for alarm.

“She didn’t know any better Rabbit” VI stepped in front of Rabbit.

“STOP PROTECTING HER!” Rabbit snarled. Jon squeaked when he almost lost his footing  causing Rabbit’s one arm to come free. He pushed VI out of the way and glared at Anabella. “Get out get out get out!’ he snarled. “I don’t want you around anymore! I don’t want you!” he yelled before he managed to pull his hand away from Spine. “Your just useless junk! You will never remember anything! You should just be powered down! Go collect dust in one of the abandoned rooms!” he snarled. And with that Rabbit turned and stomped back down to the bus to sit and mop.

Anabella seemed to  have lost her footing. Her legs gave out and she feel to the ground on her knees. Even Spine and Jon seemed to be mad at her. Spine wrapped his arms around Jon and guided him back to the bus.

Anabella sat there dumbstruck just as much as the humans were. Rabbit had his days when he would snap…but never did they think he’d snap this much.
A day early. for this one I couldn't wait till tomorrow *or midnight lol*
